A4 Paper is a standardized copy paper size established by the International Standards Organization. The paper dimensions are 210 x 297 mm. Throughout Europe and the world A4 is the close equivalent to U.S. letter size (8.5″ x 11″), but measuring 8.27 x 11.69 inches.

If you want to change the paper size of your document (for example, print a US Letter-sized PDF on A4 paper), you can change the printing format for the document. Open the menu at the top-right of the window, then select Print…. Select the Page Handling tab. Choose a Paper Scaling from the drop-down list.
Tip. If you’re in the United States or Canada, standard printer paper dimensions for most documents is that of the standard letter paper size, which is 8.5 inches by 11 inches. In much of the rest of the world, it is A4, which is 297 millimeters by 210 millimeters.
A4 (dimensions 29.7 x 21 cm) and A3 (dimensions 42 x 29.7 cm) are the most common and compatible with most printers and photocopiers.
The standard paper size in the United Kingdom
