Nora Martinez dies in the underground train tracks in New York, after the train gets derailed by the Master whose minions serve as cannon fodder. She protects Zach until she faces a “turned” Kelly Goodweather and engages her in combat.
Why was Nora killed off in the strain?
Why kill her off now? Based on other things we’re going to be doing downstream, the death of Nora was a painful but necessary turn in our plot for events in season three. It was the seismic event we needed in order to do certain things in the future.
In episode 12 we see that Dutch is pretty shaken up with what happened to her and she decides to be with Nikki instead Fet and goes after her lover.
What happened to Dutch in Season 4 of the strain?
Imprisoned as a subject in a strigoi breeding program, Dutch is desperate to escape and find Setrakian. Also: Gus recruits his cousin for the inside job that will put his gang at the top of the new world’s underground economy, but Creem is suspicious of his business partner’s ambitions.
Fet suffers a devastating personal loss revealing a long-hidden family secret. The Master’s voice proves to be more powerful and potentially fatal than Eph or Dutch anticipated. Eph, Fet, Setrakian, and Dutch must overcome their personal differences in a last-ditch effort to vanquish the strain.

But in this week’s episode “First Born,” the unthinkable, but necessary, happened: Quinlan killed the Master, exacting his 2,000-year revenge. It’s not a permanent shake up to the show’s status quo, but The Strain might have solved one of its biggest problems.
Who is the old man in the strain?
Professor Abraham Setrakian (aka ‘The Jew’, appelation assigned by Eichhorst ) is a main character and the deuteragonist of the series and a Holocaust survivor, living in New York as a pawn shop owner.
Feelers is the collective name for the group of turned blind children. They have been imbued with Extra Sensory Perception (ESP) or enhanced psychic abilities to serve as trackers to further the Master’s agenda. They were made to assist Kelly Goodweather in tracking her “Dear Ones”, Zach and Eph.
Is Dutch pregnant in the strain?
Finally time for a teeth cleaning? Nope, definitely not, considering the way she’s sitting with her legs spread. Dutch is visiting a baby doctor, who tells her that she’s not pregnant, but she is plenty fertile.
How was Quinlan born?
Quinlan reveals that he was conceived by two humans and his mother was stung by the Master while he was in utero, which caused him to be part Strigoi. Ephraim then proceeds to question how The Master’s death will cause Quinlan’s own demise.
How did the series the strain end?
After a very superhero-esque battle between Quinlan and the Master, Quinlan is defeated, but not before he rips a giant wormy mass out of the Master’s throat, gloating “I’ve won.” The Master stomps the hero’s head in as a response, but it’s good death for a fan-favorite.
Gus has no choice but to kill him by jamming a bat into his mouth and keeping twisting his neck, possibly crushing his brain too.
Is the Occido lumen real?
Many scholars consider the book a myth, or a hoax, but Setrakian, an accomplished scholar of Eastern European literature and folklore, believes it is genuine, especially since The Ancients, including the Master, all seem to fear it.
Does the strain follow the books?
The Strain is a 2009 vampire horror novel by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan. It is the first installment in The Strain Trilogy, and was followed by The Fall (2010) and The Night Eternal (2011).
What happens Eldritch Palmer?
When the Master and Eichhorst confront Palmer as a result of his actions, he demands the “reward” for his services, and assures him that all of their other plans are ready to proceed. With his usefulness at an end, the Master kills and dismembers Palmer.
In September of 2016, The Strain was renewed for a fourth and final season, so there will be no season five. The finale aired September 17, 2017.
How did season 3 of the strain end?
